G
ROUP COLLABORATIVE ART PROJECTS

These sessions, on one or multiple days, provide an experience in a collaborative art making process for two to 30 people. Participants complete a collaboratively produced work of art, and also learn about themselves in the process. The group may be artists, pre- or in-service teachers, students (Kindergarten through university), or people who work together in any volunteer, business, or social situation. Please click on Group Collaborative Art Projects for some examples and contact Taylor Gutermute at taylor@taylorforart.com for additional information.

NON-OBJECTIVE PAINTING COLLECTION

Up to 25 students (fourth grade through high school) or adults in an educational or business setting work with Taylor to collaboratively create a collection of paintings. The collection may include 20 or more large non-objective paintings ranging in size from 2’ x 2’ to 6’ x 4’. The project begins with a two-hour discussion and demonstration session including a look at various art styles leading to non-objective painting, the art elements and principles of design, color mixing, and a demonstration of several painting techniques. The next session requires a large space where canvas is rolled out and all students begin painting on the same canvas taking into consideration how the part they are working on joins into the work of their neighbors. When the canvas is dry, Taylor cuts out sections that are starting points for complete paintings and stretches them on stretcher bars. The students return to complete the paintings in a third (and possibly fourth) session with Taylor. The paintings are installed as a permanent collection in public places, or may be exhibited and auctioned at a fundraising event for the school art program. The painting project takes about four 2-3 hour sessions. Please contact Taylor Gutermute at taylor@taylorforart.com for additional information.

P
AINTED RELIEF SCULPTURE

From 5 to 10 students or adults in an educational or business setting work with Taylor to create one of her signature light-weight painted sheet metal relief sculptures that range in size from 4’ x 6’ to 5’ x 15’ or larger. The number of students participating depends on the age of the students and the size of the sculpture. In the first session Taylor demonstrates the fabrication technique. When working with younger students, Taylor creates the sculpture from student designs and the students paint the sculpture. When working with high school students, a small group works with Taylor during the design, fabrication and painting processes. The sculpture may be installed either inside or outside as all materials are weatherproof. Please contact Taylor Gutermute at taylor@taylorforart.com for cost and additional information.
